Only 7% of Children in Gaza Have Access to Education
Children in Gaza are grappling with a severe education crisis due to the destruction of schools and the constant need to relocate. Recent data reveals that only 7% of children in Gaza have access to temporary learning spaces. These spaces serve not only as classrooms but also offer lessons in Arabic, English, and mathematics, alongside emotional and psychological support.
Palestine Sports for Life (PS4L) is part of the Education Cluster initiative established to support displaced children in Gaza. PS4L has reached over 1,000 children, providing not just academic learning but also safe environments to help them transition back to a sense of normalcy. This initiative also includes recreational activities for more than 25,000 children, addressing both their educational and emotional needs.
The temporary learning spaces are strategically located in areas such as Deir al-Balah and Gaza City, offering a glimmer of hope to families displaced by conflict. Educators assess each child’s academic level, delivering tailored lessons that foster cognitive development and emotional resilience.
