School Leaders Want AI to Flag Struggling Math Students
K-12 education leaders in the U.S. are increasingly looking to artificial intelligence (AI) to identify students who are falling behind in math. A recent EdWeek survey found that 64% of school and district leaders would recommend math products that use AI to flag struggling students, with many seeing AI as a promising tool to support academic recovery post-pandemic.
According to a national survey conducted by EdWeek Market Brief, district and school leaders are most likely to recommend AI-powered math tools for their ability to identify where students are struggling. Sixty-four percent of respondents said they would favor products with that kind of feature. That was followed by tools that help teachers create lesson plans (61%) and those that explain why students got problems wrong (59%).
