South Korean School Administration Goes Digital

In South Korea, parents will now be able to submit their children’s absence reports and other documents online through the National Education Information System (NEIS), replacing the traditional paper method. This new digital system also allows parents to check their children’s grades, access school records, and apply for off-campus learning opportunities. For teachers, the process is streamlined as documents will be reviewed and managed online, though the option for parents to submit documents in person will remain available for those without internet access.

This digitization effort aims to eliminate time-consuming manual tasks, reducing the workload for both parents and teachers. The Ministry of Education has committed to improving the NEIS interface to make it more user-friendly, with the expectation that this new system will enhance efficiency and provide broader access to the educational process.
