Morning exercises boost student achievement

Indonesia’s Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu'ti, emphasized the positive impact of simple morning exercises on student performance. Speaking at the Great Indonesian Children's Gymnastics Event, Mu'ti stated that even basic movements, such as stretching or arm sways, can enhance students' energy levels and cognitive abilities, ultimately benefiting their learning processes.

Mu'ti explained that such exercises improve muscle flexibility and boost blood circulation, providing the brain with more oxygen and helping students focus better in class. He also stressed the importance of a healthy diet in supporting cognitive and physical growth. According to Mu'ti, children should avoid processed foods and prioritize natural, nutritious meals.

Highlighting the role of exercise and balanced nutrition, Mu'ti noted their significance in fostering long-term cognitive development and motivation. He encouraged parents and teachers to instill these habits in children from an early age. Mu'ti further stated that incorporating simple routines into daily life can shape a healthier, more motivated younger generation, calling for collective efforts from families and schools to sustain these practices.
