Bringing Education Data Together to Support the Whole Child and Personalize Education

The article discusses the transformative impact of integrating educational technology (ed-tech) in personalizing education by effectively using student data. Schools collect vast student data, including academic, behavioral, and social information. The main challenge is connecting this data across systems for a holistic student view.

Critical elements of an ideal edtech suite include a Data as a Service (DaaS) platform for K-12 education, removing data silos, and consolidating information from various sources. It also encompasses advanced assessment tools with self-discovery reporting, intuitive analytics, and data management software for a comprehensive view of the educational environment. Furthermore, it involves a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) for tracking student needs and interventions and student data analysis software for insights into college or workforce preparedness. Additionally, a P20W data system integrates data across education and government sectors, tracking students' journey from pre-kindergarten to the workforce.

This integration of edtech tools aims to break down data barriers, empower educators with practical assessment and analytics tools, and facilitate data-driven decision-making for personalized education.
