Artificial Intelligence Enters the Classroom: The Future of Education Discussed in Belgrade
Oracle Academy Day 2026, organized by Oracle Academy in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, brought the current state of digital transformation in education and the role of artificial intelligence in classroom practices to the agenda. Held in May at the Hyatt Hotel in Belgrade, the event brought together more than 70 high school and university teachers and addressed topics such as artificial intelligence, databases, cloud technologies, Java programming, and application development.
During the first panel, titled “Artificial Intelligence in Education and Teaching,” participants discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on teaching, assessment, and evaluation, and student learning. One of the most striking messages of the panel was: “No matter how much technology advances, it cannot replace the teacher.” The second panel focused on concrete experiences regarding how the Oracle Academy curriculum is implemented in schools. Teachers shared that students design database systems, prepare ERD diagrams, develop SQL queries, and create applications through Oracle APEX to address real-life problems. Projects selected from areas such as libraries, hospitals, sports systems, travel agencies, and e-commerce platforms enabled students to transform theoretical knowledge into practical skills.
The conference also presented Montenegro’s digital education ecosystem as an example. The Digital School platform, EdTech laboratories, and online learning resources demonstrated that the use of technology in education is not only a matter of infrastructure but also one of teacher development and pedagogical transformation.
