Born in Kayseri in 1957, Odabaşı completed her primary and secondary education at TED Kayseri College before earning a BA in English Linguistics from Hacettepe University in 1980. She taught English at TED Kayseri College (1980 – 1982) and Erciyes University (1982 – 1984). She received her MA in English Language Education (1989) and her PhD in Educational Technology (1994) from Anadolu University. At Anadolu University she went on to serve as a faculty member in the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology, Director of the School of Foreign Languages, Director of the Institute of Educational Sciences, and Dean of the Faculty of Education. Her scholarly work includes articles in international and national journals, conference papers, books, and book chapters. She has also led or contributed to numerous projects at both national and international levels as principal investigator, researcher, or consultant. Her research interests focus on technology and social transformation, children and families in the digital age, and ethics in digital contexts.
