Güllü Buzunoğlu completed her undergraduate studies in 2010 in the Department of Social Studies Teacher Education at the Atatürk Faculty of Education, Marmara University. She earned her master’s degree in 2018 from the Geography and Geopolitics of the Middle East Program at the Institute of Middle East and Islamic Countries, Marmara University with a thesis titled "Tourism Activities in Iran". Since 2019, she has been pursuing her doctoral studies in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the Institute of Social Sciences, Istanbul University.

Since 2012, Buzunoğlu has worked in various national projects within universities, public institutions, and the private sector, and since 2017, she has been involved as a researcher in European Union–funded projects. Her academic interests focus on family, migration, and women’s studies, and she has presented papers and published academic work nationally and internationally in these fields.

She has actively contributed to the organization of numerous academic conferences, symposia, and congresses, and has served as an editor for academic journals such as KADEM Journal of Women’s Studies and the Istanbul Commerce University Journal of Social Sciences. She has also held managerial and volunteer roles in various civil society organizations. Currently, Buzunoğlu works at the Research and Application Centers of Istanbul Commerce University and also serves as a researcher at Institute Social.
